Doctor Dru & Adana Twins - Juicy Fruit

It seems like its the season for rooftop parties

Silicone Soul - Right On (Matthias Tanzmann Remix)

Would have been nice to see Matthias Tanzmann at Circoloco, listen to what he brings, im a sucker for the african bongos and the tribal sound - release your inner animal.

Kabale und Liebe & Lauhaus - Hiphouse (Original Mix)

It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you - Without a strong rhyme to step to - Think of how many weak shows you slept through - Time's up, I'm sorry I kept you - Thinking of this, you keep repeating you miss - The rhymes from the microphone soloist - And you sit by the radio, hand on the dial, soon - As you hear it, pump up the volume - Dance wit the speaker 'till you hear it blow, then - Plug in the headphone 'cause here it go - It's a 4 letter word when it's heard, it control your body to dance (You got it) soul, - Ditects the tempo like a red alert - Reaches your reflex, so let it work - When this is playing, you can't get stuck wit - The steps, so get set and I'm a still come up wit - A gift to be swift, follow the leader, the rhyme will go - Def wit the record that was mixed a long time ago - It can be done but only I can do it - For those that can dance and clap your hands to it - I start to think and then I sink Into the paper - Like I was ink when I'm writing, I'm trapped in between the lines, I escape - When I finish the rhyme... I got soul

You know you all wanna rhyme like this !!

CAJMERE

Time for some talk of an all time Chicago house legend, he's soulful, he's jackin, he's out of control and producing purely to get your body poppin. We are talking about the man himself CAJMERE!!!!, aka Green Velvet. now I've recently come across this track - "funkdified" Released on Cajual Records

I have been struggling to find the above anywhere for so long until now, stupidly i did not look on Traxsource where it was available to buy here the whole time. But in my mission to get my hands on a clean 320kbs copy of this hands down, bound to make you dance tune with a re-beated, re rubbed, remix (what ever you want to call it) of a James Brown sample combined with funky saxophone licks, i have discovered that this man is one of the most forward-thinking producers in dance music. Through Cajual and Relief Records he almost single-handedly ushered in the Second Wave of Chicago House Music in the 1990s.

By the way the change at 2:18 in the above track is sooooooooooo good makes me wanna scream out FUNKY like james brown. Then at 3.22 ...... that sax makes you melt

So what i wanna do here is share some of my old time favourites from cajmere that we have all heard and possibly even spun in the club before, drop an interview which i think you may all find an interesting listen and a video of Cajmere doing his thing with a bunch of kids on a basketball court that can all bloody dance to his re-worked version of Perculator.

I dont think i have seen a track with as many reworks or remixes as perculator. When this was released in 2010 it went big and still kicking with Jamie Jones putting in his 2 cents most recently!!

Interview with Curtis Jones (Cajmere)

Heres an old classic with a bit of a VESPER twitch to it

DJ Tennis - The Outcast feat. Pillowtalk

Riva Starr

Now lets see whats Riva has been up to, i think Riva's been through some peaks and troughs over the last few years he once was my all time favourite DJ, but some how i feel he fell of the scene a little. After checking his soundcloud and various sources. Seems like he has been in the studio a bit lately, recently smashing out some re chucks, re edits and some of his own stuff, giving all of them his riva starr make over. I use Riva Starr to often describe other peoples sounds so when it comes to describing Rivas sound i cant do it, its very unique almost has it own genre.

I saw that Sounds On Sunday have just announced that he will be landing on Australian soil again. so get your riva feavahhhhh on and check out these few tracks.

Henrick Swarz & Kuniyuki - Once Again

An old one but still delightful. Henrick Swarz and Kuniyuki, I can see and Hendrix Gin Tonic with freshly cut peices of lemon and lime with beautiful people laying around a pool, blue skies and lots of sun when i hear this tack. This tune gives off a vibe of ultimate relaxation but using those quick piano stabs to to keep you awake and wanting more. Take your pick guys Henrick or Kuniyuki's version.

And just when you thought you made up your mind Reeboot Pipes in and does his own edit

Casino Times - Thats the Truth

Somtimes i spend hours searching for one of those bootleg tracks thats not over played or every dj has. Something that when you hear it you feel you already know it but strangely enough you have never actually heard it before. And then the vocals drop and to your own suprise your actually singing the lyrics and thinking ahhhhhhh thats how i know this. If your anything like me you will be smiling from ear to ear and thinking about when your going to play this next in your set.

Thanks to the Feel My Bicep Blog, great find :)

Thyladomid, Adriatique - Deep In The Three

Zed Bias

Heres a producer i just stumbled upon, a little outside of the deeper sanctuary, but could be used to give your set a little bit of bounce or happy vibes to it maybe a little to garage for some but i still like it. I don't know why i haven't heard of this guy any sooner.
His remix of "what i want" is what actually grabbed me the most it sounds a little like disclosure in some ways. His track hard to love somebody sounds a little to vocal but has a strong solid baseline.

(born Dave Jones) is an English electronic musician who operates within the UK garage and broken beat genres, both as a producer and a DJ. Jones has also released material under the pseudonym Maddslinky, and is half of the Phuturistix duo, as well as other side projects.

Zed Bias is best known for his single "Neighbourhood," which reached #25 in the UK charts in July 2000. He has remixed artists ranging from Gabrielle, Kosheen, Maxim, Pharoahe Monch and the Streets. He runs the Sidestepper Recordings label. Zed Bias' releases which explore a more experimental or progressive side of the 2-step garage sound have been hailed as a crucial element in the establishment of dubstep as a definable sound or genre.

He has also been doing some work with Omar, and in this track you can really hear Omars sound coming through

Ultraista - Smalltalk Four Tet Remix

This one i literally cant find to buy or download anywhere my mate showed me this track and I'm in love with it. So i bought it on vinyl here

Fourtet strikes again !!! Absolute Chunnnnnnnneeee

Mr. G - Clearing Space [Rekids]

"AKA's" TRACK SUGGESTIONS #002

Mr.G should totally be on everyones radar at the moment. The veteran's latest sounds on Rekids are mental. Soulful pulsing raw analog house.

Clearing Space is one of many highlights for me. An evolving bassline and filtered shout suck you in while the sirenesque raving pulse on the back end ensures all heads stay down! Just when you think it cant get any better... it does!

Christian Burkhardt - Delight

"AKA's" TRACK SUGGESTIONS #001

"Always been a fan of Christian Burkhardt. Tightest tech house producer going round for a long time! Chicago x New York vibes here. Sounds fresh"

Matthew Codek - Dungusmartus (Original Mix)

LONG WEEKEND IN THE GONG

What a weekend!!! Too many options for top music events. It was hard to head down the coast for the weekend knowing that i was going to miss Secret Societies Warehouse Party, heard it was a top night, but Wollongong ........ WOW i don't think i have herd such a high calibre of music in the gong for such a long time.

Sunday night was the big one for me this weekend. I dropped by my old stomping ground, North gong pub to catch up with some old friends, was a good place to start the night, Jem Quinn was on the 1s and 2s spinning some nice indie/ nu disco infused with some deeper house and a few Party Jams towards the end of his set, this guy never disappoints. Jem's built his reputation as one of Wollongong's most versatile and reliable DJs, definitely a safe booking if your planing on running an event in the gong.

Now LAZE .... HOLY S*!T didn't these guys go all out on there sound system, i could have been on the beach and still felt like i was standing inside a speaker, it was so clear and had so much bottom end. and to walk into the brewery with Maceo Plex playing just made it even better. The boys set up on the outside terrace and had busted out the robe plasma lights along the railing as well wich just added to the atmosphere, definitely 10 out of 10 for the setup.

I then went to battle the line at the Illawarra Hotel where the Parkside DJs, Ben Ashton and Jack Fuller were were absolutely tearing up the dance floor. The line to get in was literally backed up to the doors of 151, i don't think I've ever seen a bigger line at that place. So much fun ..... So many good tunes ........ so many fist pumps, i literally forgot to drink. You could have been as sober as a priest and still loving life in that room.

I took a few snaps of the boys on my i phone and a couple of videos and also heard a few killer tracks played that ill share with u guys as well.

Make sure you get your self down to either one of these parties next events. Big ups to the boys from LAZE and PARKSIDE for bringing absolute TUNES to the Gong!!
