Being born in Frankfurt is not such a bad omen if you want to make electronic music. 26 years later and after a few Motown Records and hip hop influences and a 6-month traineeship at Cocoon it is safe to say that the advantage of the birth city has paid off for Emanuel Satie! Fascinated by artists like Luciano, Sven Väth and Ricardo Villalobos, Emanuel initially starts as a DJ. He moves between house and techno – always ahead, always deep and with groove and soul. The focus of his actions is crystal clear: the happenings on the dance floor.
But at some point this is not enough. The desire to produce his own music brings about two consequences: Lots of his own productions and sets, which consist more and more of these. Since 2011 Emanuel performed all of his gigs as live acts using only his own tracks. His style is housey, danceable, groovy, deep and soulful, sometimes even with an atmospheric touch and R&B and Soul influences. The fact is and what is relevant is that the guy is convincing in clubs, at Beatport and in the record store. Releases on renowned labels like Cécille Records, Souvenir, Noir Music and bouq. speak just as clearly as the support which these titles are getting from DJ colleagues – from renowned ones, mind you: DJ T., Butch, Noir, Tiefschwarz, Huxley and Carlo Lio amongst many others are not only playing but also charting Emanuel's music. Quality prevails even in times when the technical barriers have fallen to the extent that almost anybody can produce. And so it goes without saying that national and international bookings are on the rise – a great way to start 2013 as a new member of the Bonheur Artist Booking family.

The Altus Project is an events company based in Sydney, Australia. Altus has been designed to take our followers on a musical journey from the heady heights of deep house, to the soulful vibes of nu-disco, to the pounding beats of tech house. We aim to engage you from start to finish and invite you to experience something beyond music, we want you to belong. Altus events will be coming to Sydney's shores in the summer 2013.

We are kicking this season off with a mix from Tough Love (UK) featuring exclusive tracks and remixes to get you in the mood for a summer in the sun. This duo hailing from London have gone from strength to strength in the last twelve months. Tough Love were first discovered from a track titled "the night is calling" which has seen support from Solomun, Manik, Amine Edge, Russ Yallop, Finnebassen, Climbers, Lee M Kelsall, No Artificial Colours, Hot Since 82, Jaymo & Andy to name a few.

In 2013 we see Tough Love joining forces with Altus resident Lee M Kelsall releasing an EP on Kerri Chandler's Madtech Records

Tough Love bring a renewed energy and craft a distinct deep driving sound that is instantly recognisable as there own.Playing sets that are pure and purposeful from the very roots of house music with a focus on the sole element of making you dance. With their eclectic taste and twist on modern electronic music, Tough Love have rekindled the feel good factor and unleashed it.

We look forward to seeing the boys grace the decks at the Altus Project in 2013.

So Xmas and New Years has taken its toll on me, I've been busy partying and recovery but ultimately hearing some super new music. Heard this one in a DJ. T set recently and loved up straight up. Old school pure party house vibes :) 

Fabio Giannelli - Maintain (M.A.N.D.Y Remix)

Fabio Giannelli made his first EP appearance on Get Physical with 'Let The Spirit Sing', a two track smasher, one of which was the summer mini hit, 'Maintain'. The track flew up the charts and hung on for quite a while, and in that time M.A.N.D.Y. and Just Be have been hard at work creating their own versions. M.A.N.D.Y. have been bringing more and more to the plate lately, and their studio time with friends like Jimmy Vallance has been paying off. With huge tracks like 'Twisted Sister' and 'Full Off 12', the boys are getting into a very nice groove, one they continue to ride here. They exhibit an inspiring percussion and various sounds as they open a can of bass on the floor. This is the moment when you close your eyes and move your feet. Another strong mix from the boys, and a very strong addition to the release. Though its base is power percussion, Just Be's remix reflects a lighter side - with pads and relaxed chords taking the center stage. The vocals come out for an appearance and the remix takes a turn for the deep end, wrapping the track up, and the EP, very nicely and leaving us satisfied after the journey.
