DHA - 94th Podcast - Hamish Radford

Always have a 3rd eye on whats happening amongst other collectives in our area, Deep house Australia have just put forth their 94th podcast...

DHA welcomes our newest podcast resident, Hamish Radford. Hamish delivers 'Warm Grooves' for his official debut as resident.

Previously, Hamish won our .darkroom DJ competition and has joined us as a guest on the DHA Weekly radio show. Hamish is an extremely talented, and young, vinyl only DJ, who when behind the decks has experience beyond his years. At only 21 years old, Hamish has a wealth of experience in the local scene in Sydney. He is also a producer and sound engineer to boot...

As a vinyl only DJ, his record collection is vast and varying throughout many different styles and sub-genres, although we are most accustomed to hearing him play house and techno.

We hope you enjoy these 'Warm Grooves'.

Luca Bacchetti - The Space Between Us - New EP "OVO"

Can only explain this mans productions as a electronic orchestra, fitted with so much meaning and emotion.

By now we have become used to sudden changes of direction; but we’d already gathered his real intentions following the popular remix of “Lonely Stars In Open Skies” on All Day I Dream with which Luca jump started 2014.

Now OVO, the eagerly awaited new Luca Bacchetti EP, is here!

With this work on his ENDLESS imprint, Luca seems to be delineating a new soundscape, maintaining the psychedelia he introduced into his productions a few years ago; but now more synthetic and in some ways even minimalist.

In OVO we can find a brace of dancefloor tracks, No Gravity and The Space Between Us, that maintain and harness Luca's emotional and intricate atmospheres whilst also employing powerful sounds and elements that embrace the movement of the body. Mature, emotional Techno, where ethereal dream-like atmospheres find a singular expression and their own distinct identity. It is no coincidence that the whole EP was recorded entirely high up in the Tosco Emiliano Apennines: a place where, for Luca, Nature is the element that most influences this new aural pathway. As he himself states: “It’s this contrast between isolated lands and the chaos of the big city that produces this state of being: a new dialogue. They are two worlds which overlap within my soul: when I’m in New York I think of these mountains and when I’m here I think of the bustle of tour life .. but it’s up here that I find the seed, in this case OVO.”

The beautiful ambient masterpiece, OVO, was recorded in December 2013 and features Stefano Onorati, jazz musician and long time friend of Luca. The 15 minute opus was then finished in April 2014 and now sees its unveiling.

Tuccillo - Reckless fear Arie

Found this little chugger reposted from Nick Curly - nice, stable, energy building. The kind of track you would slide in when the nights beginning to lift off

MIX OF THE WEEK: Tanner Ross - Live @ Elita Festival Milan

Dean Relf - Elesdee (Original Mix)

Really impressed with this track from Dean Relf. These days you can spend hours in a session searching for new tracks to the point where everything starts to sound the same, thats when you know you need to give your ears a break. Today i was just reaching that point after listening to hours of mixes, playlists and Soundcloud streams when this track instantly caught my attention. I really couldn't believe that this track had been built by a Wollongong producer.

One of six in Wollongongs most successful DJ collaboration - PARKSIDE, Dean Relf has been pinned to the unquestionabe list of stable reliable DJs, but Dean has not solely emerged into the industry though the work he does with Parkside, Dean has earnt the respect from numerous waves of electronic music enthusiasts in Australia's music industry over the last 6-10 years. Though his consistency, passion, and understanding of what djing actually is all about (The music, not the spotlight) he has managed to involve himself with some of those who are naturally moulding and directing the fashion of electronic dance music.

Dean Relf has reinforced his ability throughout sydney by holding on to a residency at a club that some of us would consider Australia's number one underground house and tech music venue - SPICE CELLAR.

With out completely overdoing himself on the gig front deans name has been showing up on some top events proving that quality over quantity is really what matters to dean. Keep an eye out for this guy as he never fails to disappoint when he is in front of the mixer.
