THM PODCAST #004 - JACOB MALMO

This House Moves Podcast #004 is a 67min mix from a Veteran Melbourne DJ Jacob Malmo, once residing in Wollongong Jacob made his way down to Melbourne years ago instantly driving his way into leading house venues influencing them with his sound, a sound that separates him from the rest, his experience is truly demonstrated through his sets and his ear for creating feeling and meaning and moulding a vibe throughout a set impeccable.

I think every experienced dj can look back through the years of gigs, hours of play time and see how once upon a time they were impatient with their mixing and just wanting to show skill and the ability to mix from one track to another rather then taking a step back, looking up whos in front of you and selecting something that is fitting for the vibe or is fitting for the point of your set.

This is something that Jacob has perfected, a mature dj with alot of depth.

Jacob holds a long term residency at revolver currently playing fridays along with another residency on fridays at Ms Collins, on saturday you will find him playing Juke at the Prince Bandroom, 161 and then back to revolver on Sundays.

Jacob is also a host for Melbournes Kiss Fm and has been a contributor towards This House Moves. He has put together a 67 min set for us, hope u enjoy as much as we did

THM Podcast #001 - Alex Ludlow - 14-08-2013

So its been a while since i have put together a set for Soundcloud, i guess i just have struggled to find a previous recording of mine that i have been happy with. I think the reason being is that after 8 years of DJing i have finally settled into my sound and have acquired a taste to a certain calibre of house music.

Although the events i run through THM, the record labels i follow, the local DJs i support and the selection of tunes i share on this blog do represent my style, i think that this podcast will show you the most accurate representation of the sound i am moulding myself around as a dj.

Hope you all enjoy!

AndHim - Live at Fusion Festival

Now i know Audiojack already got mix of the week for this week but i listened to this set this morning at work from ANDHIM that i was really enjoying. It was recorded this year at the almighty fusion festival in Germany. Fusion has been around since 1997 Simon and Tobias joined them last year but by the looks of it they crowd keeps coming back to see them. This mix has all the big ones that we heard them play in Wollongong when they where here with THM plus so much more. They once again prove the power of super hausssssss.

MIX OF THE WEEK - AudioJack Back to Basics Live @ The Garage

Audiojack, (James Rial and Richard Burkinshaw) have just recently released a new mix for one of the longest running club events in the UK running since 1991

Back to Basics @ The Garage, Leeds

James and Richard, who are also Leeds residents, Say ....

"The club has had a huge influence on us over the years, particularly in our early days when we could be found there on many a weekend immersing ourselves in their sounds. Our debut in 2007 is still one of our proudest moments as DJs. They’ve found a great new home at The Garage and it’s always an honour to play for them"

Heres a little insite into the clubs history...

Im really impressed with the opening track to this set, its different and is definetely an epic way to kick off a show. Its a little peice they have recently put together and dosent look like they will be releasing it any time soon.

This House Moves hosted James in January this year on Australia Day @ Splashes and Beach bar where he played to hundreds of people in the main room. We reached Capacity that day and James completely vibed up the main room with a 2 hour set.

This DJ set was recorded live at Basics @ The Garage on Saturday 22nd June 2013.

MIX OF THE WEEK - Emanuel Satie

Really diggin the Maturity of Emanuel's sounds, He knows how to mix with energy and keeps you on your feet but is also so patient with his transitions and knows when to take it back to a minimal level to give you that resting moment on the D floor, he gives you the time to get yourself excited for his next drop.
Oh and im a sucker for a little touch of tribal Drums every now and then thrown in the mix.

Are you ready for the Altus experience?

The Altus Project is an events company based in Sydney, Australia. We are kicking this season off with a mix from Tough Love (UK) featuring exclusive tracks and remixes to get you in the mood for a summer in the sun. This duo hailing from London have gone from strength to strength in the last twelve months. Tough Love bring a renewed energy and craft a distinct deep driving sound that is instantly recognisable as there own.Playing sets that are pure and purposeful from the very roots of house music with a focus on the sole element of making you dance. With their eclectic taste and twist on modern electronic music, Tough Love have rekindled the feel good factor and unleashed it.
