MIX OF THE WEEK - Emanuel Satie

Really diggin the Maturity of Emanuel's sounds, He knows how to mix with energy and keeps you on your feet but is also so patient with his transitions and knows when to take it back to a minimal level to give you that resting moment on the D floor, he gives you the time to get yourself excited for his next drop. 

Oh and im a sucker for a little touch of tribal Drums every now and then thrown in the mix.

So i found myself wandering deep into the internet last night and came across this gem. The only problem was that i couldn't find a digital download to load up my quiver ANYWHERE. Lo and behold i read that the track hasn't been released yet. I also notice that the 12" is being released today (18/2/12). So naturally, at this time of night, i enter my credit card details and get promised 8-12 day shipping. I don't even own a record player. Frothing.

After seeing this UK duo's live show at field day I instantly fell in love with their garage, synth-pop sound. 

Groovy bass, simple yet effective drums, those sharp synths & soft pads and of course the magical vocals of AlunaGeorge that hook you in.

White Noise dropped at field day before it had been released sending the crowd into a puzzled though satisfied state leaving myself and certainly others anticipating it's arrival in our iTunes libraries. 

Now its here and i've already thrashed it.

Now THM usually exudes an upbeat vibe, but I really wanted to share something a bit darker and deeper this time around. This new remix by DJ Koze is pretty damn amazing and so original. I find it quite infectious!

Probably best kept for the lounge room sunrise after a massive night with the closest of friends, its clarion synth is haunting, yet contrasted with warm whispering vocals is super soothing. May not be to everyone's taste but I hope you like it!

A lot of you may not have heard this yet due to it being a vinyl only release of 150 copies and totally sold out! Copies of this record have going for over $200 on the Discogs marketplace... a clear indication of it's awesomeness  Luckily, due to outrageous demand, it is being released digitally by Defected in the next few weeks . Can't wait to get my hands on a copy as I don't think I'll be able to afford the original wax release any time soon!
