Taya - Kieravan

TAYA native to Byron Bay is someone I've been watching and listening too for a little while now. Byron hasn't got a massive house music scene compared to the big smoke but that hasn't stopped the quality of music being produced from this little beach side shire. I caught TAYA playing at Splendour In The Grass last year and he delivered a perfectly mixed set of driving deep to heavy tech. His playing style is versatile and his producing is a distinct heavy Australian deep house sound. This is one to seriously watch!

Jay Shepheard

So here is one from an all time favourite of mine, i think i last saw Jay Shepheard, maybe just over a year ago now play Spice Cellar and i have remembered it to be one of the most memorable nights in that place, he absolutely killed it. This weekend he has quite a busy schedule as he hits Sydney and Wollongong. Jay Shepheard is definitely hot right now on the house music front and is in popular demand with 3 shows to play this sunday, SPICE, S.A.S.H & PARKSIDE, Wollognong, 3 parties which i would consider to be the strongest event brands this state has to offer right now.

Where ever u are make sure u get to one of these solid events, or even get to all of them, ill be showing my face at 2 thats for sure.

(THR011) Patrick Daniels - I Need You EP

PATRICK DANIELS BIO

Canada is currently home to many rising underground House & Techno artists, and twenty two year old Patrick Daniels is perfect example. Hailing from Toronto, this upcoming DJ producer is causing people to take notice with his big sounding, peak-time house productions. A technically trained graduate from RAC with a degree in audio engineering, Patrick's techniques to illicit movement on a dance floor are only second to his ability to attract emotional engagement to his music.

Honing in on a range of influences from nineties House to today's UK sounds, Patrick's sound is both tight, and hard hitting, and can range from beautifully melodic, to heavy bass driven house. Patrick's music has been released on Provoke, CMM, Betty Beat, and Trojan House Records. With an arsenal of new music coming soon on labels like Downpour, and Liquid Grooves, his next EP "I Need You" will be invading crates June 18 on Trojan House Records.

Behind the decks, Patrick would much rather be spinnin' wax, and he is no stranger to educated dance floors. Already has supported many international artists, and he has opened for Beckwith "Anjunadeep" and Carl Craig.

Patrick Daniels brings his underground house flavour to Trojan House Records with "I Need You". His original mix is a hard hitting house track that will have fists pumping from his big kick drum, and beautiful organ melody that bounce around his crispy drums parts.

Panos' remix, aptly named "The Lost Dub" takes his interpretation into a dark and magical place. He builds a spacious plane where he stretches his bouncy drums, and dreamy synth lines to create a pounding, mystical journey. Not unlike undertaking an expedition to find Atlantis.

Sami Wentz' underground house vibe resonates right through his remix. From his bouncy drums, to his infectious deep bass line, right through to his processed and delayed percussions, vocals and pad line. An underground house cut, that would not be out of place peak time on dense dance floors!

James Petrou's remix is a tech house track at its core. With his pounding kick drum, and stuttering short bass line in place, James lays down a melodic and slightly uplifting organ melody that blend together in an aggressive and face paced manner. It's this untamable force that will have feet moving across the floor.

Cameron Cooper's version of "I Need You" brings his unique flavour. Consisting of a fusion of deep, house, and tech elements. His remix is a strikingly curious amalgam that culminates when he snaps his addictive bass line into the mix after his sparse and stripped back build. It is this unpredictable contrast that will keep dance floors on their toes.

Patrick Daniels second track on the EP is "Breathe". A deep house number, complete with beautiful bright chord stabs and big sounding synth parts. Steeped in reverb, atmosphere and character, his use of delay for these parts including a subliminal vocal part give this a deep Chicago underground vibe.

Early promo DJ support from Amine Edge & DANCE, Animal Trainer, Franco Bianco, Patrick Podage, Raffa FL, Saccao, Dirty Channels, Horse Meat Disco, LTJ Bukem, Rhadow, B-Traits, Ceri, Evren Ulusoy, Vanilla Ace.

Gunner Stiller - NOISE! Podcast

I came across Gunner Stiller not so long ago and I've been hooked since! Stiller's style consists of house and techno along with his trademark funk-tinged basslines that never fail to disappoint. He last played Australia in 2010 and i for one hope he makes a return to our shores sooner rather then later. Producing his own tracks for respected labels like Upon. You Records, Clap Your Hands or Voltage Musique Gunner Stiller is one to keep an eye on!

And for one a little closer to home.
